Cray Wanderers Women are in midweek action this evening in the Isthmian League Cup with Sutton United the visitors to Flamingo Park. Kick off 7.45 pm.
Cray bounced back superbly on Sunday to the FA Cup defeat to Comets by maintaining a 100% winning start to the SECWFL Premier season with an excellent 2-1 win at Maidstone United to make it three wins out of three. First half goals from Olivia Gregory and Ellie Cole was just reward for an enterprising display and had to dig in the second half after the Stones pulled a goal back.
Sutton United will provide very stern opposition and play a couple of steps higher to Cray Wanderers in the London and South East Regional Premier Division. The U’s are currently in 6th place and their last fixture was a 2-2 draw at Millwall on Sunday 6th October. They started the season with back to back wins against Newhaven and Haywards Heath before losing at Barking and at home to Saltdean United and followed up with draws against Sport London e Benfica and Millwall. In the FA Cup, Sutton were beaten in the 2nd QR by Herne Bay on penalties. The teams did meet in a pre-season friendly in July with Sutton winning 6-3 at Flamingo Park.
Admission £3 adults, £2 concessions on the gate and the tie to be decided on the night.
