Cray Wanderers Women play the first of four consecutive home league matches this afternoon with Sevenoaks Town Women the visitors in a clash of teams in 3rd and 4th place both with 100% winning records after three matches.
Cray played a rare midweek game on Wednesday night losing to a Sutton United side in the Isthmian League Cup who play in a higher echelon of the Women’s game and today’s game will be a real test for both sides’ promotion ambitions.
The Wands in 3rd place so far have beaten Tonbridge Angels (3-1) at home and won impressively at Tunbridge Wells Foresters (7-3) and last Sunday were 2-1 winners at Maidstone United with goals from Olivia Gregory and Ellie Cole.
Sevenoaks Town also have nine points in 4th place and have won at Maidstone United (5-2) and at home to Margate (2-1) and Woodcombe Sports (4-2) last Sunday. Both sides exited the FA Cup at the 2nd Qualifying Round stage. The teams will also meet again in the SECWL League Cup in December.
Cray Wanderers Women’s games are always a good watch and four of the next five Sunday’s gives an opportunity for supporters to watch a team in exciting form.
