Cray Wanderers vs Fisher – FA Youth Cup Preliminary Round

Cray Wanderers Youth team football gets underway for the 2021-22 season this evening as the FA Youth Cup begins in the Preliminary Round. The young Wands side entertain Fisher FC in a match between two clubs with a strong tradition of bringing through young players.
Darren Grover’s Cray side begin their Kent Youth League U18s North season on Sunday 12th September at Cray Valley PM and the visit of Fisher will be a good test ahead of the league and cup season.
Cray have had a decent record in recent seasons in the competition reaching the 2nd Round Proper in 2018-19 and the 3rd QR the following season.
Fisher FC over decades and in various guises have a strong history of bringing through young players from the Bermondsey/Rotherhithe/South East London areas and their youth teams play in the Selkent League along with many Cray Wanderers sides.
The tie is to be played to a finish with the possibility of extra-time and penalties and the winners will be away to Glebe who were Kent Youth League U18s North Champions last season just ahead of the Wands in the table.
Admission on the gate only is £5.00 adults, £2.00 concs/U18s.
This is a chance to grab a look at some of the potential stars of the future and an enjoyable cup tie finishing under the lights at Hayes Lane.
