A note for Cray Wanderers supporters of a couple of recent arrivals to the club who joined just before last weekend’s game at Brightlingsea Regent.
Marcus Sablier Midfield
Cray Wanderers are delighted to announce the signing on loan of midfielder Marcus Sablier from Bromley for the remainder of the season.
Marcus has come through the Bromley FC academy and has played for the first team making his breakthrough in the 2021-22 season. Marcus has gained valuable experience with loan spells at Welling United last season and this season has played for Hampton & Richmond Borough and more recently at Bowers & Pitsea.
Marcus made his debut for the Wands off the bench at Brightlingsea Regent last Saturday and made a positive impact and is a player with huge potential. We welcome Marcus and hope he enjoys his time with the Wands.
Liam Northwood – Goalkeeper
Liam is a recent signing for the Wands joining on 17th March from Sheppey United.
Liam started his career with Charlton Athletic’s Academy U9’s-U15s and had a spell at the Arsenal’s Academy before joining Maidstone United’s Under 18s/U23s side. He went on to Sheppey United at the start of last season and was part of their SCEFL Premier Division Championship winning side after earlier having a successful spell at Cray Valley PM. He went on to Punjab United at the start of the 2022-23 season but returned to Sheppey United in January but never made an appearance before joining the Wands.
Liam has great pedigree as the son of one of Cray Wanderers most popular goalkeeper’s Steve Northwood who made 144 appearances between 2004-2007 in the Isthmian Division One South and a former Wands Supporters Player of the Year in 2005-06.
We welcome Liam to Cray Wanderers and hope he enjoys his time with the club.
