Farewell to Stacey Whitehead and Dino Lyamani

All at Cray Wanderers wish all the best to two great stars of the match day team at Cray Wanderers, Stacy Whitehead and Dino Lyamani who both departed at the end of January.

Stacy, came to Cray Wanderers nine years ago and became treasurer/financier of the youth section at the club under the stewardship of Gill Neville. At this time Cray Wanderers youth section was disparate playing at various venues and in name only with nothing in the bank account.  However, once the section became integrated and the move to Flamingo Park became a reality the club grew and the youth section became the heartbeat of Cray Wanderers.

Thanks to Stacy’s hard work with keeping the finances in check especially with 43 club sides at Cray Wanderers.  Such a part of the football club requires patience, high quality people skills particularly when dealing with kids growing from U7s all the way to U18s and love for her job and this love was echoed by the club, parents, managers and players.

Stacy left the club on 24th January and all at Cray Wanderers have been honoured and blessed to enjoy our time with Stacy and we wish her all the best with her next venture and certainly leaves us with Cray Wanderers in a great place on and off the pitch.

Meanwhile we also say farewell to Catering Manager Dino Lyamani who departed the Wands on 26th January.

Dino has been a vital cog in the Flamingo Park machinery as Catering Manager following our official move to the ground and helped to organise the catering not just for home games from this season but also the multitude of games taking place on Saturday’s and especially on Sunday’s.

Dino was a former Wands player making a handful of first team appearances during the 1994-95 season and for our reserve side.  He was a regular helper during the latter Hayes Lane years on matchdays particularly with Golden Goals and often provided some first class cakes for committee and helpers.  He has also helped provide bar and food facilities at private events at Flamingo Park and for live events and during live screenings during World Cup 2022 and Euro 2024.

Dino has a big heart and and in 2024 helped the victims of the earthquake in Morocco in September 2023 and was part of an entourage who visited the villages impacted by the earthquake to deliver hundreds of donated bags and at the same time raised £10, 000 for charity and a team captained by Dino represented in Cray Wanderers colours played against a local side to bring goodness and joy to those who suffered so much

We thank Dino for his efforts and being such a familiar and friendly face and hopefully remembers that with our support especially away from home growing there will always be space on the terraces for him and for Stacey with the Cray Massive.
