Cray Wanderers announce Ozay Booth’s departure as Media Manager

Cray Wanderers are sad to announce the departure of Media Manager Ozay Booth from match day duties for the 2024-25 season.  Ozay will still help out with Cray Wanderers in an advisory capacity and help with content but on match days will work with SE Dons who have made the step up from Sunday league to SCEFL Division One football next season in partnership with Forest Hill Park FC.

Ozay has been Media Manager since 2019 and helped transform the club’s online and social media profile and his match day videos, with close to the pitch and player visuals were groundbreaking at this level of football.

He first became involved with Cray Wanderers ten years ago when he was part of the team overlooking  the club’s applications for Flamingo Park and created the visuals to go with the application which proved successful.  At this time, Ozay, a decent footballer in his own right became part of a new Sunday League club, SE Dons playing in the Bromley & Orpington District League and revolutionised Sunday league football with their games filmed for YouTube and building up a considerable online following which led to increased support at their league and cup games.  This led to success on the field and titles and cups and their success reached national media outlets and the club became a sophisticated brand.  With the club taking the step up to Saturday football and Cray unlikely to play many more Sunday games in the future, Ozay will continue to push the Dons on their new journey, possibly up the league pyramid but continue to be a friend of the Wands and watch the club with the fans from time to time.

Ozay looked to bring that online excitement and sophistication to Cray Wanderers and helped to create a branding compatible with the club’s moving to a new home and became involved with match day filming from the 2019-20 season which were uploaded to YouTube and also the website design, Instagram and Twitter pages, links with sponsors and the club’s publicity. This carried on  even after football had an uncertain couple of years due to Covid and his own health issues and from 2021-22 his visual work became groundbreaking even to the point of using drone technology for arial shots for added impact and then in charge of match day photos and behind the goal filming of Cray Wanderers goals and braving all conditions..He also was part of the design plans for Cray Wanderers home and away playing kits including for the 2024-25 season and helped the club find a visual identity and brand so the move to the new stadium would be as professional as many Football league clubs.

Ozay also worked in the last couple of years with the Women’s team and Academy sides with publicity and was a hugely respected and loved member of the match day team with management, coaches and players alike.

It is apt that the Wands, now in their new home will face an SE Dons side, playing Saturday football in the first pre-season game on Saturday so there will be a chance for supporters to have a chat and pass on their regards.

We all wish Ozay well and say thank you for his incredible work and dedication to the Wands as both Cray Wanderers and SE Dons head to exciting times and futures.
