A note for Cray Wanderers supporters that the funeral of George Taylor will take place on Wednesday 16th August at All Saints Church, Foots Cray at 12 noon.
Following the funeral there will be a private cremation at Eltham Crematorium followed by a Celebration of Life at a venue to be decided in due course. At the request of George’s family, guests are advised to dress respectfully but not necessarily in black and perhaps with a sporting touch as George loved his sport.
The funeral takes place on the day of the Wands first home league match of the season vs Horsham and the players will wear black arm bands in memory of George and there will be a minute silence before the match that evening
More details to follow on the service of this remarkable gentleman who lived to 103 and three and a half years ago was reunited with Cray Wanderers on his 100th birthday having last played for Cray in 1938.
