A huge game for the Cray Wanderers U18s/Academy side this evening in the 3rd Qualifying Round of the FA Youth Cup as the Wands face Kingstonian for a place in the 1st Round Proper. Kick off: 7.45 pm.
Neil Smith and Tim O’Shea have been guiding the players through the rounds and after a bye in the Preliminary Round advanced past Dulwich Hamlet (0-0 &and 5-4 on penalties) and Glebe (2-2 (Scorers Michael Ihiedi and Alfie Murphy, 7-6 on penalties) to set up the match against the K’s. Kingstonian have won at Ash United (3-1) and at home to Worthing (2-2 won on penalties) and Horsham (5-1) and will be a tough test for the Wands. This is the last round until the EFL standard clubs enter the competition from the 1st Round.
Cray will be aiming to reach the 1st Round for the second time after making it through in the 2018-19 season after a 3-0 win vs Raynes Park Vale which set up a tie at Worthing and the following season made it to the 3rd Qualifying Round before losing at Maidenhead United.
This will be a good one under the lights with some fine young talent on both sides and with the stakes high should be a great match. Please note the tie will be decided on penalties if level after 90 minutes.
Admission £5/£2 pay only on the gate.
