All at Cray Wanderers send our congratulations to Crystal Palace captain Marc Guehi who has been selected for the full England squad for the first time for the upcoming international games vs Switzerland and Ivory Coast. Marc started his formative years from 2005-2007 with Cray Wanderers from the age of 6 under the astute coaching of Steve Owen making him the first ever Cray Wanderers youth player to be selected for England.

Marc who came to England with his family from the Ivory Coast as a child went to the Chelsea Academy in 2007 and made incredible progress over the next ten years earning England youth honours and captained the England U17s to World Cup success in India in 2017 under the management of Steve Cooper and scored in the final vs Spain. He went on to make two first team appearances for Chelsea in 2019 before spending the next season and a half at Swansea City where Cooper was the manager helping the Welsh side to the Championship Playoffs twice including the final in 2020-21. Marc who has played 16 times for the England U21s signed for Crystal Palace in the summer of 2021 and has been a huge success and now has been rewarded with his first England call up and we wish him well and hope he enjoys his England debut
